Dear Family,
My name is Alba, I’m 20 years old, I live in Switzerland and i speak french. For several years now, I’ve had the dream of spending a year abroad as an au pair, living with a family in another country and discovering a new culture while improving my english.
I have a Swiss CFC in social care, and I’ve been working with children for the past four years. During my apprenticeship, I worked mainly with children between 4 and 12 years old. Today, I work as a substitute childcare worker in different childcare settings, where I have the opportunity to work with children of all ages, from babies only a few months old to children around 12 years old.
I have always loved working in the social environment and being around children. I am a responsible, caring and reliable person, and I really enjoy creating a good relationship with children while maintaining a professional attitude. I’m also very used to adapting to new environments and people. I would say that I integrate very easily into new families and I am not difficult when it comes to adapting to a new lifestyle or new routines.
I have also done quite a lot of babysitting over the years, so I am used to looking after children in their own homes and taking responsibility for them independently. I really enjoy spending time with children, playing with them, stimulates them in their development, doing activities together, helping them with their routines and simply being someone they can feel comfortable around.
As for my English, I would say that I have a good conversational level. I speak english almost every day with some of my friends, so I’ll say that I’am comfortable communicating and having conversations. However, I know that my grammar and vocabulary are not perfect, which is one of the main reasons why I would love to become an au pair. I want to improve my English, become more fluent and feel even more confident speaking it every day.
I am a friendly, responsible and easy-going person, and I would love to become part of a family rather than simply feel like an employee. I would be happy to help with the children and everyday life while also sharing my own culture and getting to know yours.
