Dear Host Family,
My name is Virginia Wanjiru and I am a 24-year-old young woman from Kenya. I am a caring, responsible, hardworking and open-minded person who enjoys spending time with children and learning about different cultures. I am very happy to introduce myself to you and hopefully get the opportunity to become part of your family as an au pair.

I have a background as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), and I have also completed First Aid training. My healthcare background has taught me to be patient, attentive, responsible and understanding, especially when caring for other people. I understand that taking care of children requires more than simply watching the it requires patience, kindness, responsibility, communication and creating a safe and happy environment for them.

I genuinely enjoy being around children. I like playing with them, helping them with their daily routines, preparing simple meals, reading stories, doing creative activities, going for walks and encouraging them to learn and explore. I would also be happy to help with school routines, preparing their things, keeping their rooms and play areas organized, and supporting the family with reasonable childcare-related household tasks.

I am currently learning German and have completed my Goethe A1 level. I am now studying A2 and my goal is to continue improving toward B1. I know that my German is still developing, but I am motivated to practice every day and become more confident in speaking. I would be very happy to learn German through everyday communication with your family and at the same time, share my English and Kenyan culture with you.

In my free time, I enjoy cooking, reading, exercising, traveling and spending time in nature. I especially enjoy learning about different cultures and trying new things. I would love to experience everyday family life in Germany not only as someone who comes to Germany, but as a respectful member of the family who can learn from you and also contribute something from my own culture.

I would describe myself as calm, respectful, adaptable and dependable. I understand that every family has its own routines, expectations and way of doing things and I am willing to listen, communicate openly and adapt. Building a genuine cultural exchange and a trusting relationship with my host family.
